From Politico
Seven jurors were sworn in this afternoon, filling out the panel that will decide Trump’s legal fate. Here is what we know about them:
- A man who lives in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood and works in investment banking.
- A man who lives in the West Village, works as a security engineer and has three children.
- An Upper East Side man originally from Lebanon who is retired and enjoys fly fishing.
- An Upper East Side woman who works as a speech therapist.
- A Murray Hill man who works at an eyewear company and enjoys the outdoors.
- A woman originally from California who lives in Upper Manhattan and works in product development.
- An Upper East Side woman who works as a physical therapist and enjoys tennis and paddle boarding.
These seven Manhattanites join five other jurors who were selected earlier this week. Those five jurors are:
- A West Harlem man originally from Ireland who works in sales and will serve as the jury’s foreperson.
- A man who lives in Chelsea and works as a corporate lawyer.
- A woman who has lived in Harlem her whole life and works in education.
- A woman who lives in Chelsea and works as a software engineer.
- An Upper East Side man who works as a lawyer practicing civil litigation.
……
All of them are white collar or at least light blue collar, but Manhattan has been pretty well gentrified so that’s to be expected.
One alternate was selected. Five more will be selected tomorrow. Opening arguments on Monday.

Juries are poop shit when any judge is not instructing the jury on the applicable laws, and that any juror may find any law as wrong, thereby making their decision based upon not agreeing with the law…
…all juries are is an option when the accused fears government employees will lie, cheat and steal away your innocent stature… or that the accused hopes a jury will be less punitive than The Court…
…juries are often a collection of people with personal agendas and feelings… and as such, never to be trusted as a real option in any pursuit of justice… especially when lawyers hand select jurors…
it is laughable that lawyers tinker with juries to save on Court time and alternates, all the while lawyers get paid their wealth bank account with contrived hearing after hearing in the USA faked justice system meant only to enrich lawyers… not to get to the facts right away and be done in whole.

… don’t believe me, fine, but opposing lawyers conspire all the time to deposit your money into their wealth bank accounts by colluding and conspiring in ways and means to extend your case as expensively as possible while doing nothing for your justice… except maybe warp your mindset that justice is only a fleeting concept, much more not even a reality…
… same story so many people confide to me beyond my personal experiences… but voters only elect folks who look away… .
USA is burnt toast people… prepare for the worst… .

From Tom Watson the centrist foil of mine on Twitter who is a yuge Trump is a fascist alarm-bell sounding liberal. Doesn’t he have a point? Why are you enabling this focus on the jury? Are you missing the forest because of that one tree with an orange hue to it?

But who am I to rain on your parade Eric after I just noticed the flurry of posts on Trump’s trial. This has got to be quite an event for you having those in your profession with power over the fascist.

Will this trial require a unanimous verdict or how many to convict ?
This is NYC so no way will Trump get a fair trial. It already has a criminal trial for a civil matter.

Pretty sure it takes all 12, John. The no-fair-trial thing is a talking point, made moot by the reality this trial is a matter of determining facts, not opinions. Even with my major case of DTS, I could vote fairly on facts.
This trial will inform voters, yes. Ultimately, they will decide between Obi-Wan-Joe-Bi and whatever you want to call Trump.

It’s not the south. NY requires a unanimous verdict for criminal matters.
And submitting fraudulently falsified documents to a government entity to cover up campaign donations is a crime, not a civil matter. Cohen has already spent time in jail for it.

Cohen…I never have been provided any facts that Trump knew what Cohen did… I believe one’s opinion on the matter changes depending on a yes versus no scenario…

Trump is way weak for sleeping with prostitutes on the road, taking an activity MLK made famous… to new heights!

Did MLK win public office by committing a crime? No. Trump has taken us there – to new lows.

This case is still an embarrassment of prosecutorial ethics and apparent selective prosecution. Nevertheless, each side should have its day in court. If convicted, Mr. Trump can fight many other days — and perhaps win — in appellate courts. But if Monday’s opening is a preview of exaggerated allegations, imprecise legal theories and persistently unaddressed problems, the prosecutors might not win a conviction at all.
