Nothingburger political post…
World Cup more entertaining…
Rooting for the Japanese and their 3-4-3 formation… exciting team.
USA taken down by the Dutch 3-1, not surprising… USA sucks on offense…always has in World Cups…
The Dutch are an air assault style team… tall players…play a heavy D oriented formation 5-3-2 that builds the attack from defenders with long aerial balls to stretch the field, get crosses from wings while interior support builds to fill in for rebounds and quick ball movement to uncork a shot on goal… looked like USA countered in form with a 4-3-2-1 alignment, hard to tell… which personally, was too heavy on the backend without a more compact, but also wide, heavy midfield presence… preferred a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 or 3-4-3 flat, 3-5-2 or 3-6-1… but maybe USA is weak with a centerback system, IDK what coach B. feels…

Meanwhile, things remain a bit more contentious at the national level:

And yet, he advocates a military coup and DeSantis is silent. He dines with a Nazi and DeSantis is silent. And some polls have Trump ahead. DeSantis needs Trump’s crazy base, so he will not speak up. He’s a coward.

The Trump- DeSantis polling is, put it mildly, all over the map.
Most recent Emerson poll (Nov 18-19)
Trump 55
DeSantis 25
(Trump +30)
Most recent recent Marquette poll (Nov 15-22)
Trump 40
DeSantis 60
(DeSantis +20)
The fact that DeSantis is leading Trump in any polls is an improvement.
The fact that two polls taken at around the same time are showing result 50 points different from one another is…pretty weird.
Both are pollsters with pretty high ratings. Obviously they can’t both be right.
The Emerson poll does have a much larger sample size (almost twice as large) so the chance of error due to random chance in the Marquette poll is larger.
The other obvious difference is that the Marquette poll only gives two choices: Trump of DeSantis (and given the numbers add to 100%, they must be including “leaners”). Whereas the Emerson poll includes other candidates.
But even with those differences, it’s hard to account for the 50 point gap between the results.

Don’t get your panties in a bunch eric. I was just trying to educate you. He’s just letting trump hang himself. Besides, he doesn’t “need” that “crazy” base. They’re hard core conservatives. They’d vote for any Republican. Similar to the base that voted for Uncle Fester in Pennsylvania…..

Hi Eric.
Is it normal or usual for election results to take a month to count?
Thx

Worldguy – yes, although we don’t really notice it if there aren’t any photo-finish races. The deadline for certification has always been in December.

Just Watching – actually, Trump brings out people who don’t usually vote, which is why he confounds the polls as they don’t fit into the “likely voter” formulas. But they didn’t turn out much in 2018, and only in some states (where crazy people were on the Republican ticket) in 2022. DeSantis needs them to turn out, and a bunch of them are white supremacists, so he can’t really afford to alienate the nazi/klan vote. Exactly why Trump said he didn’t know who David Duke is when Duke endorsed him (he was on record commenting about Duke years ago).
DeSantis needs the racists. He can’t win without them.

LOL…..you have to go back to david duke to make points. Your fear of DeSantis is already showing. Why not throw in the screech about “ELECTION DENIER!!”. Oh….that’s right, democrats just elected one the lead their party…..

You only have to go back as far as (checks notes) yesterday to find the former GOP President and Election Denier In Chief calling for the Constitution to be “terminated” in order to illegally re-install him in the White House as unelected pseudo president.
