Fifteen community groups are joining forces to host three candidate forums featuring candidates running in the November 3, 2020 election for Eureka City Council, Arcata City Council, McKinleyville Community Services District, and Humboldt Community Services District.

Eureka City Council Candidates: Friday, September 18, 2020 at 6 p.m.

Arcata City Council Candidates: Friday, September 25, 2020 at 6 p.m.

McKinleyville & Humboldt Community Services Districts Candidates: Friday, October 2, 2020 at 6 p.m.

The Eureka Chapter of the NAACP, Centro del Pueblo, the Wiyot Tribe, the Humboldt & Del Norte Central Labor Council, North Coast People’s Alliance, Cooperation Humboldt, Health Care for All Humboldt/Physicians for a National Health Program, Northcoast Environmental Center, Move to Amend, Affordable Homeless Housing Alternatives, the Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities, Humboldt County Transition Age Youth Collaborative, Humboldt Area Center for Harm Reduction, College of the Redwoods, and Club Triangle.The forums will be moderated by Noel August, better known to locals as Tucker Noir from Club Triangle.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, they will be held virtually and broadcast live via Access Humboldt at: www.youtube.com/user/accesshumboldt, on television Channel 11, and on radio station KZZH – and Facebook.

Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available via Zoom; anyone desiring Spanish interpretation should contact cdphumboldt@gmail.com for a Zoom link. The forums will also be recorded and re-aired several times before the election.The sponsoring organizations will ask questions which are relevant to their missions, giving voters an opportunity to hear how the candidates stand on a variety of issues. All 31 candidates who have filed papers to run for Eureka City Council, Arcata City Council, McKinleyville Community Services District Board of Directors, or Humboldt Community Services District Board of Directors have been invited to participate. See Less
