Thursday Night Talk’s programming this month is dedicated to Black History Month (as Dick Gregory noted, isn’t it ironic that we give it the shortest and coldest month of the year?). My guest will be Professor Ryan Emenaker to discuss the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the 1968 Civil Rights Act with specific focus on the successes and shortcomings of Title VIII,the Fair Housing Act. 7:00 p.m. this Thursday evening.

Ryan Emenaker is a professor of political science at College of the Redwoods and a PhD candidate at Brown University. His research focuses on judicial politics and constitutional law. He has written numerous pieces on the history and role of the Supreme Court including an article on why the Supreme Court should uphold the Voting Rights Act, which appeared on SCOTUSblog, the premier news and research site on the Supreme Court.
