The Republicans are gearing up for firing Robert Mueller, after singing his praises just a couple of weeks ago. They’re turning on him now, and I have to wonder what’s been said in closed session which is freaking Republicans out. Newt Gingrich is leading the charge – naturally he doesn’t hold public office. And a Trump confidant told PBS that Trump is seriously considering firing Mueller.
Would they really do this? I mean, we’re talking Saturday Night Massacre all over again, only about a year ahead of schedule.
All of the sudden Sen. Kamal Harris’s grilling of Rosenstein last week becomes extremely pertinent.

Go Kamala.

Yeah, I was wondering why she was pushing so hard on it. Had rumors reached her?
Trump will probably hang Rosenstein out to dry. Desperation, but there may come a point where he has nothing to lose.
She was impressive!

Would Trump fire Mueller? Or would Trump order Rosenstein to fire Mueller? (I don’t think Trump can directly fire Mueller.)
He might. Remember, we are not dealing with someone who acts rationally and cautiously. Most likely Rosenstein would resign.
The real question is how far will Republicans in Congress go along with this circus? Is there a point past which 51 Republican senators won’t go? Are there even a handful of Republicans in Congress who put country before party?

The 26th Amendment (and his plans to fire the Special Counsel) may be an explanation for why Trump forced the public swearing of loyalty from his Cabinet today.
Under the 26th Amendment, If the VP and half the Cabinet decide Trump is nuts, they can take him out. Trump is trying to get them on the record to make it harder for his Cabinet to then say he has no business being President.
If Trump does go after the Special Counsel, the 26th Amendment may the the only way the Republicans can save their sorry hinders.

No, the Republicans in Congress probably have enough now to impeach and convict. The question is whether there is a threshold low enough for them to use the power they have.
Trump shooting someone on Fifth Avenue probably doesn’t clear their threshold.

Laura Ingraham appeared on “Fox & Friends” this morning to slam reports that President Donald Trump is “considering” firing Robert Mueller, the Justice Department special counsel investigating possible ties between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.
A longtime friend of Trump, Christopher Ruddy, said on PBS’s “Newshour” that the president is “considering, perhaps, terminating the special counsel.”
“I think he’s weighing that option,” Ruddy said.
The White House was quick to dismiss Ruddy’s comments.
“Mr. Ruddy never spoke to the president regarding this issue,” Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, said in a statement hours later. “With respect to this subject, only the president or his attorneys are authorized to comment.”
Ingraham called out the mainstream media for running with Ruddy’s unsubstantiated remarks.
“This is fake news,” Ingraham said. “This is an example of the establishment media being agenda-driven to drive the president out of office, and being lazy, and being stupid.”

Establishment media? This was his right wing buddy who said it on live television.
Is Trump throwing him under the bus?

Trump has given Priebus until July 4 to “clean house”. That’s only three weeks away.
Sounds like there may be several bus/staff encounters coming.
Apparently Kushner has been telling people that Bannon is about to open another attack on him. Much fun if that happens.
The more dysfunction these clowns remain, the better.
Oh, and Trump’s disapproval rating on the daily Gallup poll hit 60% today for the first time. Looking at all the subgroups, Trump’s support is dropping pretty much everywhere.

So why would Trump’s buddy lie about that?

Thank You EK for taking HOJ’s original comment on Harris and turning it into a blog thread…..validates the intelligence you were admiring on another thread.

W.o.P.
Why do you all continue to press the false, fake, BS narrative that Trump is going to fir Mueller? It didn’t happen and it’s not going to happen. That was a BS rumor, not substantiated at all. You just make this stuff up as you go.
