They just cut out language with the goal of “a countywide trail system that meets future recreational and non-motorized transportation demands.” Gone.”

– Mark Lovelace

Hubris?  Or is this the will of the voters?

Mike Dronkers interviewed Mark Lovelace.

Lovelace added that people who should be concerned about trails in Humboldt aren’t being heard at these meetings. “They need to show up. Because right now, huge sweeping decisions are being made  by a planning commission with the complete absence of public input.”

Said Dan Ehresman of the Northcoast Environmental Center:

“It was not unexpected that HumCPR founders sitting on the commission would go to the extreme of cutting regional trails and gutting the open space program. I am more disappointed in three of the five supervisors who voted to send it back to the commission.”

Addendum:  Mark Lovelace says that the General Plan Update process is now “completely corrupt.”
