The press release, forwarded to me by Dennis O’Sullivan:

CR trustees to discuss Southern Humboldt site Tuesday

The College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees will discuss the future of the college’s Southern Humboldt Instructional Site at its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

CR Interim President Utpal Goswami will recommend a rejection of the latest renovation construction bids for the former Garberville School on Sprowel Creek Road. CR bought the building from the Southern Humboldt Unified School District in January 2010.

However, Goswami said that CR is “not abandoning its educational commitment to Southern Humboldt residents or the site itself.”

Goswami said the CR Trustees will consider his recommendation and possible alternatives for the CR Southern Humboldt Instructional Site.

The public session of the CR Board of Trustees meeting begins at 1 p.m. It is located on the second floor of the Administration Building on the main Eureka campus.

For more information, call CR Director of Communications and Marketing Paul DeMark at 476-4561.

Dennis informs me that it is too late for written comment, but maybe some Sohum presence at the meeting tomorrow, or direct contact with the trustees prior to the meeting, could have some effect.
