Harry Reid is reporting that they will pass the Senate Bill as is, and then will force a number of fixes by way of reconciliation, or as the DC media is putting it, they will “resort to a majority-vote procedure.”  Remember just over a year ago when legislation could be passed with a majority?  That appears to be over.  At least while Democrats hold the majority.

As reported earlier on this blog, there is movement to include a public option among those fixes.  In order to meet the rigorous qualifications for the reconciliation procedure, the public option may have to be a strong one, perhaps even tied to Medicare rates, in order to meet the anti-deficit guidelines.  It would be a rich irony if the Republican intransigence and Lieberman grandstanding actually leads to a much stronger public option than would have been passed a couple of months ago.

“Wii Curling”

He didn’t do anything to me.  Did he do anything to you?  Do you care  that he had an affair?

I really wish I had the time to worry about Tiger Woods’ marriage.   I’m envious of those who do.
