For the first half hour – he will have some parting thoughts as to where the county is at, where it’s headed, and what you should focus on politically as the Board will now function with a property rights supermajority. And he will discuss the county’s economic future.

It is a sad state of affairs that Estelle Fennell is our supervisor. I am both sickened and saddened. Clif was a really really really good supervisor, heading towards greatness.
Estelle Fennell will be arrogant and egotistical. She has said nothing about being supervisor for ALL of the second district. She will turn a blind eye and deaf ear towards those who did not vote for her. Unlike Clif, who listened to all.

Well, let’s see how Estelle does. She’s in, and she hasn’t voted on anything yet. Maybe she’ll surprise you.
Of course, she risks being a one-termer if she does, but let’s see what she does.

You sound just like my partner. She is saying the same thing. We will be listening in 15 min.. I’ll surely miss Clif. I won’t hold my breath for any surprises with Estelle Fennell.

To the above Anonymous/cliff’s wife : Sour Grapes.
Cliff was not reelected because he was not a good Supervisor for the 2nd District. He served a few steadfast supporters but Cliff became famous for not returning phone calls and not representing our district.
Fennell was elected because of her broadbased support throughout the whole district. And also many people that supported Cliff the first time around jumped ship for Estelle the second time around and I was one of them. I and my whole family are really really really happy that Estelle is now our 2nd District Supervisor. Go Estelle!

Hi Kathleen/above. I/we are not Clif’s wife. People will find out Estelle Fennell is a liar.

This isn’t necessary folks. And neither Kathleen nor Laurie post here.

Looks like some sour grapesters have already prejudged Estelle, and can’t wait to heap insults on her, even before she’s taken office or cast a single vote. Thanks for making that clear, as it will help explain things if there is, as now appears likely, a lot of unjustified criticism of Estelle right out of the box..

I don’t plan on doing any unjustified criticism of Estelle Fennell. My criticisms will always be justified. The fact of Estelle Fennell being a liar is a truth, not an insult.

My comment at 9:36 yesterday was aimed at this prejudicial statement:
“Estelle Fennell will be arrogant and egotistical…She will turn a blind eye and deaf ear towards those who did not vote for her.”
Whoever said that is so hopelessly biased that they can not even wait to see what she will do when in office, but felt the need to criticize her actions in office, even though she’s not even in office yet. FYI, criticizing someone’s future actions is a great way to reveal that your mind is already completely closed and therefore your opinions should be viewed with great skepticism. So, again, thanks for that!

Clif found out why the biggest block of voters in the district have not been able to elect or re elect one of their own. Fortuna may call itself the friendly city but in reality it is a group of warring factions. There is a reason there hadn’t been a supervisor from Fortuna for many years. Clif lost the race due to the backbiting and jealousy inherent in the politics up north. Clif is a good supervisor and Estelle will be fine.

Eric, did you close comments on Clif’s “appearance” on your talk show? I wanted to add this:
“Politics is the art of the possible,” Otto von Bismarck said. I am a die-hard, some might say fanatical supporter of Clif. I support him because I agree with his positions on the issues most important to me and because I greatly admire him as a person. But nevertheless he lost the election. Those of us disappointed Clifsters who’d like to see progress made on our issues, who hold any hope of having any meaningful say in how the county is governed in the next four years, had better accept the fact that our candidate lost the election, and start thinking about how to constructively approach our new supervisor. And that starts with respect.
And how do you reconcile all these childish, nasty, bullying comments and name-calling (on both sides!) with the supposed SoHum ethic of peace, love, brother/sisterhood, harmony, “unity” (“Don’t be divisive, agree with me, damn it!”) and “positive energy?” Do we need to smoke something in order to live up to our supposed countercultural ethic?
