My KHSU talk show debuts tomorrow night. I have Milt Boyd of the Democrats and Park Bostron Parke Bostrom (I hope I’m spelling those names right) of the Republicans to talk statewide ballot propositions. 7:00 to 8:00. We have 11 propositions, some of them kind of complicated, but I will make room for calls.

Romney shal win and launch the military to eliminate the pot farming. I’m all for him, kill the fools who make drugs. Lock them up for life.

So KHSU is trying to become KMUD?
And KMUD is trying to become KHSU?
What’s the point of having to very similar radio stations in the same listening area?
How’s your ego Eric?

I have a little bit of a different emphasis on my KHSU show. It’s more about bringing different voices into one room for debate. My KMUD show is more about critical thinking. There will be some overlap, but the proposals I pitched to each station were a bit different. Dave Cobb can’t make it for all the Thursday night talk shows anymore, so they’re rotating hosts each week.
It was a good show tonight. The Republican guy Park is more of a libertarian than a conservative, but it was a great discussion. Milt Boyd was a professor of science, and opposes Prop 37. It led to an interesting late show discussion.

Nice show Eric. I learned a little more about some of the less publicized propositions and even think I will change my vote on one. Never met Park but he at least came across as measured and thoughtful dispite my strong disagreement in many areas. Thank you.
btw, What is the process for making a show proposal and who reviews the application?

They already were in many ways, but I don’t mind. I listen to both. KMUD while at work and KHSU at home. I’ll give KHSU the edge if only because they have all the NPR stuff on in the late afternoon.
My only complaint about both is they both geek out that the same time. If one has dumb stuff on at a certain day and time- Sundays, in particular-the other has dumb stuff on, too. Then I have to break down and find some other channel to listen to until their dumb stuff is over.
Oh, I should give KMUD a thumbs up for not covering the presidential debates, at least I think they didn’t cover one of them. If I’m not mistaken, they both did the first one.

You want to talk to Katie Whiteside who is the programming director. I believe that she and Ed Subkis, the station manager, make the programing decisions.

“kill the fools who make drugs.”
If that isn’t the most ignorant, stupid, mind-boggling asinine statement ever made on this on this blog, then I just don’t know…..
American (in name only) “Brown-shirts” are really, really disgusting. They have no concept of shame. For them, empathy is for sissies. They are terrified of freedom, so they work overtime for any fascist leader who promises to take away the freedoms that Americans have fought and died for. Simply put, they’re enemies of America and free American people.
