Eeny Meany….. If you could read, the opening of this thread said “a weekend full of fun on the banks of the majestic Eel River”. Is Benbow on the banks of the Eel River?

WTF—- “yeah baby” is Ed Voice’s tell. That you Eddie baby? If you lived around here you would know that the Mateel name is a regional designation of a larger area encompassing the Mattole and Eel river watersheds.

Interesting how the Reggae comments have changed since the Reggae Wars concluded. There was a time when I would have believed the sincerity of the posters. Now I just toss a coin. Heads–disgruntled citizen. Tails–bitter person unable to let go. If it lands on the edge it means I’m the one that changed and have just lost my faith in anyone being real.

There is definitely a % of the Reggae “travelers” (that seems to be year round now) that blow into Garberville and blow smoke in everyones faces as they walk by in front of Flavors.
I stepped in a big turd INSIDE Flavors. It was really gross, obviously tracked in from outside their door. It’s getting really bad, but it’s just business as usual as if this is NORMAL. No biggie.
My family and i used to love just walking around town after getting a coffee or an ice cream, not any more. I agree it’s becoming a hobo haven and they’re getting more and more aggressive. A few months ago someone’s throat was cut. Now the other day one of these “travelers” stabbed someone in the face. Just read the local police log in the paper and see what a great increase of calls they have right there in front of flavors.

when i noticed that our hobo park on the main drag in gville swelled to about 40 and growing everyday, i wondered WTF. then i realized that, oh yeah, ROTR is coming up
my dad who owns a local business has seen a definite increase in turds, urine, and cigarette butts on the sidewalks. i hope that mateel center will be following these folks with pooper scoopers and a hose to clean up their messes.

Is Doug “Big Ego” Green still the MC. Isn’t it time that somebody younger and more skillful doing the MC at ROTR. Stevie Culture does a great job and I’m sure there are other people who would be good for the job. Doug seems to think that people are there to listen to him blather on and on filling the whole time between sets. Brain turned off ,mouth turned on and nothing intelligent comes out.
