Kym is up on the events, trying to pry information out of the DEA and other authorities.
Any eye witness accounts? Someone reported in the LCO thread that a slew of names for background checks was heard over a scanner.
I’m wondering if the raids were planned to accomodate the first season of marijuana bust reality TV.

Our modern Security/Police State rolls ever onward and upward. Makes you think twice about moving to or living in the country doesn’t it? Heck, makes me think twice about living in Eureka too!

Perhaps it should make you think twice about participating in an activity that, like it or not, is currently illegal. I’m not a fan of the prohibition, but the terms of the social contract are clear.

If the EPA is involved as reported, this could be much more serious than the marijuana. But we don’t have many facts to work with.

Hey, anonyous, sorry to say this but the terms of the social contract are anything but clear when it comes to marijuana.

I seems clear it’s currently illegal Ed. What’s not clear to you? I thought that’s what makes growing groovy, cool and a underground way of life. It’s the dark side of fame, getting caught. But not just for growing “Medicine”, but having guns and harming the river and wildlife in the process. Until things change, people will get busted. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime!

Semantics
It isn’t going to move anyone in this argument, in this county, until the IRS is brought in. Net Worth Audit isn’t as vague as the blur between Federal and State Laws.

Last I checked, growing, posessing, or selling Marijuana is illegal according to Federal law. It has been established that Federal law always supersedes state law, so there is very little ambiguity that the feds have the right to prosecute for this action.

Yeah, why are no press releases being published or eyewitness accounts or any info on this. Very odd?

Jamesh – when these busts have happened, people get scared. I get a lot of traffic, but few eyewitness accounts because people are afraid of being tracked through the Internet and targeted, and all that. The Tuesday busts involved some names, but I’m guessing that there were no arrests in the Panther Gap raid, or we would know about it by now.

“People get scared” ? What are they “scared” of ? Getting busted ? Arrested ? Their ill gotten cash taken ? Gee Whiz I feel so bad for them !
I remember the theme song to Baretta (the Robert Blake tv show), and my favorite line from the song “don’t do the crime if you can’t do the crime, don’t do it no don’t do it”

“secret raids” ? I forgot to add; when do the feds or other law enforcement agencies not keep “raids” secret ?
If your clients are involved in a criminal enterprise they have to accept some risk of arrest.
