It’s meaningless to me. A surreal facade. I’d like to see dylan turn around and spit on the face of the president of the united states. Not that I blame him for not. Bob’s words are and have always been truthfully derogatory of the government, and that’s one of the major reasons people love him.
I will live to see a red hot chili pepper honored by a president. Twenty years ago, the previous sentence would have been bizare to somebody unfamiliar with the band, and everybody was unfamiliar with the band. Will it be the red hot chili pepper who urinated on an american flag, or the one who urinated on their audience? Will they be honored for the work they did during the peak of their drug use or before or after?
Look at osama bin bama…”We have a special love for fucking with YOUR fans”. Bob dylan has always said the government is fucked up and finally the government knows he’s right! His music is gonna sell like hotcakes until the year 3030, he’s in like elvis. It’s all out of bob’s hands at this point.
