It looks like they’re in full retreat on the payroll tax extension. Doesn’t happen often as the Democrats are usually ready to cave right up to the moment of victory. But they don’t want to be accused of sinking the economy, so cooler GOP heads prevailed. 10 month extension – no offsets to minimize the stimulative effect.
More national news topics later, as Santorum becomes…. the front runner????
Meanwhile, here’s another reason the payroll tax cave-in might be a very significant event in American politics.

Well its official. Every joker in the deck has now been played in the anybody but Romney poker game. I guess I should take that back. Ron Paul has yet to win one. If you told me a year ago that the reeps would tear themselves apart and Obama would be re elected in a walk over I would not have believed it. Makes me want to go out and hug a Tea Party member. They are the best thing to happen to the Democrats in many a year. While the candidates continue to suck up to their “conservative base” independents are leaving in droves. Happy days are here again.
