Somewhere I hear a Jewish mother saying “for this I’m sending you to Yeshiva! I thought you were studying!”

Ah, Merry Christmas offset here by the continuing selling of Judaism on this blog..
Mitch, you might want to register the fact that your bud Eric has tried his best to censor my comments. Have to use different email addresses to get around his blocking. You are acting like his toady now, feeding into his Jewish wannabe religious ambition to be like his wife and boss and Commie mentors of his parents, none of which would be bothersome to me except he also shows the Commie latent fascist mindset and tendency to prohibit free speech of critics as Eric himself plays the crony of his mentors Heraldo group identity frauds and more hidden fascists pols in Humboldt County.
As you may or may not know Christianity’s roots in Egyptian sun god worship are being exposed these days. Well, Judaism too has its roots in borrowed sun god worship being hidden under a veil of nationalistic piety. Hanukkah is another Jewish “holy day” that celebrates war against Gentiles. But unknown to most Jews Hanukkah also is a hidden sun god celebration.
Shamash was an ancient Near Eastern sun god whose icon was an eight pointed star thus you get the eight days of Hanukkah. Lest there be no doubt that Shamash
is the root of this Jewish holiday, the special Hanukkah menorah has as its central candle, the only candle with its own name, “Shamash”.

That second video is “Ashrei,” apparently prayed three times daily by the observant.
From the Wikipedia entry:
Ashrei is about three concepts. These are[5]:
People are happy when they are close to God.
God cares about the poor and oppressed.
God rewards good behavior and punishes evil.
Significantly, there is no invidious comparison here between Israel and the other nations, nor any mention of the hostility of, or toward, other nations. The Psalm praises God whose justice and mercy applies to all peoples. In verse 9 (ט) we are told “The LORD is good to all and His mercy extends to all He has created.” By verse 21 (ת) – “All flesh shall praise Your name ….” – all mankind expresses its gratitude.[13]
Also significantly, this prayer is entirely praise of God, without asking for anything.[14]
I think the Yeshiva University group, the Maccabeats, is basically having fun, like any other college a capella group. But a lot of these others really seem to be designed by rabbis to bring non-observant Jews back in to the synagogue, or to prevent them from leaving. I remember synagogue as the most boring place on the planet. It looks like someone’s figured out that’s not a way to keep people coming.

Hanukkah, like most Jewish holy days, celebrates victory over Gentiles. And Hanukkah, unknown to most Jews, just like Christmas, unknown to most Christians, celebrates a sun god, in Hanukkah’s case, the ancient Near Eastern sun god, Shamash. Shamash’s iconic emblem of recognition was an eight-pointed star as seen Shamash
. The eight days of Hanukkah reflect Shamash’s icon as does the special central candle in the special Hanukkah menorah which is called “Shamash”.
These sun gods got around as the Jewish Sun God Jesus dominates the world’s religions even now.
I have to agree with Mitch’s experience of synagogues. While Jews excel as story-tellers they flopped miserably as preachers to the congregation. And the music, God help us..Rabbis…one on one perhaps was meant all along as the Jewish priesthood really wasn’t meant to shepherd the flock in the same way as Christian pastors take their responsibilities.
See if this comment posts. I never know because Eric still is playing his infantile Heraldo censorship games with me.

Would you believe this is the fourth time I’ve tried to post this comment to have it censored away by Eric? Why, Eric? Why do you resort to these infantile games to block my comments? What are you and your fellow Prog blog censors so afraid of from critics that you both do the censorship deal? Who else around here censors blog comments based on politics? We had a pretty good discussion going here before and you stopped my imput to it. Why? The only posts I censor on my blog as most others do around here are ones that are vicious libels of me or others, you know like the ones seen on your blog posted by “Jewish person” urging me to die with cancer that you let go by while you censor my posts responding to Mitch’s question. Your ethical standards are those of a lawyer in the usual sense of that expletive. Well, here’s my post again, only several days old..

Steve – you are on moderation because of past behavior, although your posts actually ended up in my spam folder because of the link.
You are not on moderation because of politics. You are on moderation because you are quite aggressive in your obsessive anti-Semitism, such that you often dominate threads with it. I’m letting these through for the moment because I think they are instructive.

Hanukkah, like most Jewish holy days, celebrates victory over Gentiles.
I don’t understand what is wrong with that. Did the Jews invade Greece or vice-versa?
December 28, 2011 at 9:30 pm
Eric Kirk
I suspect that question is sarcastic 2:49, but basically the Greeks did occupy Judea and banned the practice of traditional Judaism, allowing only a Hellenized version. They were caught in the middle of a war between Antiochus of Greece and Ptolemy of Egypt, and the “traditionalist” Jews chose the wrong side, at least in the short run. I’m sure Wikipedia has more details, most of which come from Josephus who wrote about it long after it happened. It’s also chronicled a little bit in the Maccabees, which are rejected as scripture by Jews and Protestants alike, though accepted by Catholics.

Here’s a YoYo Ma version of Kol Nidre. But it’s not really appropriate for this season!

Eric, whatever you’re very bigoted viewpoint of me is what you do is fascist censorship of political views of others you don’t want to post on your blog. And it is political censorship that you do as you claim to have no religious p.o.v., ha ha, as if, when you are the Jewish religions’ wannabe blogster bar none on Humboldt blogs.
And when are you going to stop playing the ADL hypocrite who foists the Jewish Orwellian double-speak on all of us–I’m talking about yours and Jewish anti-Semitism, the real deal that conceals the European Jewish war against real Semitic peoples. When you and your Jewish cohorts in arms against Semitic peoples use the “anti-Semitism” ploy to stop scrutiny of Jewish political and religious beliefs, you only show your inability to be an honorable man as you resort to Jewish characters assassination of me and other anti-Zionists. As for my “aggression”, what it is is my not backing down to your bigotry against Semitic peoples and the religion you back that fosters aggression and occupation of the lands of real Semitic peoples.
Back to Shamash…Judaism, just like Christianity, also has it’s Sun God celebration in the Hanukkah holiday. We should know this by the fact that in Hebrew the word for sun is shamash.

The Maccabeats’ White House performance earlier this year.
January 6, 2012 at 7:22 am
Steve
The Maccabeats seem to be following the Christian church music in adopting Black African music to their otherwise incredibly boring religious singing except for classical works by major composers. Judaism’s most highly honored rabbi Maimonides would not be happy with the black influence I can tell you that but its good to see some actual music in Judaism. But it will never help sell this religion based on racial prejudice against the majority of humankind.

Eric Kirk
It’s based on Dynamite Stephen. A popular rock song.
And Christians are in no position to throw stones about boring music.
January 6, 2012 at 8:55 am
Mitch
Maimonides died in 1204, for anyone who might worry that an honored rabbi is spreading racism. I’ve heard rumors that racism was still entrenched in many societies as recently as the 1250s, maybe even more recently than that.
January 6, 2012 at 8:56 am
Eric Kirk
But Mitch, there are no racist Christians! Not even in 1204.
January 6, 2012 at 7:19 pm
Steve
But there is Maimonides who is still held as Judaism’s most honored rabbi and he was a flat out racist who thought blacks were not human.
And really, Eric, in your zeal for being SoHum’s most active Jewish wannabe your efforts to diss Christian music as boring are totally pathetic when one compares stuff like Handel’s Messiah or all the black influence in Christian music to the stilted guck that was Jewish music until they too caught the black wave as your Meccadeadbeats demonstrate..
