That is about par for the course for Rush. I hear that he often says things that are way over the line.

The extraordinary thing is just how ordinary this behavior has become. We need a new name for this group of mediapols, whose “ideas” are far, far beyond the Buckley right and whose behavior is unlike anything in recent American history. I’m without PG ideas.

Although it is my opinion that we, as a country, have become entirely too PC, Limbaugh certainly pushes the envelope. I’m also strongly aware that if Limbaugh was a Chinese national, he could have had his heart plucked from his chest with not a word being said about it. He could be sharing the same fate as “Tank Man”.
I despise what Limbaugh did, but I’m particularly proud of the fact that we live in a country where a person can be that stupid and live through it.

And this bozo makes tens of millions of dollars each year? That is what really angers me. His performance here is juvenile, but is it more offensive than Rep. Steve Cohen’s (Dem.-Tenn.) comparison of Republican opponents of so-called “Obamacare” to Joseph Goebbels? I think I’d rather have my accent mocked than be likened to the Nazi propagandist.

I remember hearing Rush on late night radio (when I worked graveyard shift) 30 years ago and he wasn’t nearly this crazy. I’ve observed his decline in sanity and emergence as a bigot over the decades with disgust.
I don’t listen or watch Rush’s circus performance (I haven’t in years) but he’s seemingly always in the news. He’s a lightening rod for stupid people and manages to come up with outrageous accusations and lies on a daily basis. In other words, he’s a Media Darling!

I wish there was a lack of demand for such panderers; but, as we have seen, Rush’s popularity only gave birth to more and even worse panderers. Selling people hate to divide them into groups waring against each other rather than trying to improve the lives of everyone pays quite well. Look who pays their salaries.

Well, at least he isn’t killing anybody. But Michelle Obama is killing pedestrians! So maybe leftists just shouldn’t throw stones.

I am never surprised by any thing this guy says. He describes himself as an “entertainer” and as such he is compelled to top himself constantly. He is a clever guy and too smart to believe half the crap that comes out of his mouth. What is it about radio that it is the medium of choice for so many political and religious hucksters? All but a few have been flops on T.V. and who in the hell has time to listen to AM radio for two or three hours everyday? The fact that Rush makes 30 million plus dispensing a steady stream of bile may account for some of the anger that seems to be rampant in this country.

Keithy's Mom
Plain Jane is hilarious. All you have to do is substitute “Keith” for “Rush” and her post makes perfect sense. Well except that there is two “r’s” in warring. Unless she is talking about a blender.

Using the “logic” from The Daily Caller and the Washington Examiner, one could easily make the case that Rush has killed by his advocacy of right wing policies and politicians who deny terminally ill people life saving transplants and hundreds of thousands who, but for lack of health care, would live longer, more productive and happy lives. Then there are the hundreds of thousands of dead due to his support of war and the industries which profit so greatly from it. Too bad the sort of people who actually read The Daily Caller and The Washington Examiner will, in all likelihood, never read TPM or any source which applies real logic to the claims which spew from the right wing echo chamber.

Barbra Streisand was among the guests at the state dinner for President Hu.
Later, as she walked into the White House for the dinner, Ms. Streisand was asked what accounted for her invitation. Her reply was deadpan: “I worked in a Chinese restaurant.”

Maybe Keithy’s mom can support “her” implication that there has been a proliferation of highly paid left wing pundits which Keith spawned. Or maybe proofreading is “her” only skill.

Yes, but I’d be even prouder if I lived in a country where 90% or more of the people were so repulsed by his behavior that he did not get millions of dollars a year for engaging in it.
And I’d be prouder still if 90% of the people could correctly answer basic questions about the truth and falsehood of various political claims, and those people all voted.
That would make me achingly proud.

Ernie, I agree about the PC thing, although I actually think we’re swinging the pendulum back to the other extreme at the moment. It wasn’t just that Rush made the noises – he went on for some time. He knew what he was doing and he was relishing it, precisely knowing that his listeners would vindicate his disrespect as if he was some sort of anti-PC hero. If you call someone on his bigotry, you are now a PC thought cop. He not only has the right to say what he wants, but he has the right to not hear from you or me about it.

Colbert handled this thing hilariously tonight. I’ll post the video tomorrow when it becomes available for embedding.

“(CBS) President Barack Obama’s daughter Sasha, 9, is learning Chinese in school. And like any encouraging dad, the president helped her find opportunities to hone her skills.
This week, the 9-year-old had the chance to practice her phrases with Hu Jintao, the Chinese president.”
Rush is out-classed, hands-down, by Sasha!

Cows are dull but sweet. Limbaugh is more like a bloated hyena. I love Colbert’s translation of Rush’s chinese-speak. “My favorite donut is all donuts. When I get up my chair smells like a cat shelter” Hilarious.
