What is he, a hundred? I can’t believe he’s still singing.

Not a hundred but getting close. Lets hope that he that he is with us for many more years. When the time comes it will be an unfathomable loss of wisdom and leadership. I sometimes wonder how we continue to “pull through” with the loss of the most inspirational among us. Course i had the the same fears when we lost Garcia and I guess we survived, sort of. Anyway, here’s to Pete. Thank you.

Seeger is 91. Wikipedia has a very good entry for him.

A well-lived life, lasting very long. That’s an inspiration in itself. To see him still going at 91 is marvelous. I remember attending a workshop on activism that he gave back when I lived in the Bay area – that would be over 30 years ago. The workshop was requested by local activists because they feared that Pete, then around 60, was nearing retirement and wouldn’t be around to pass on his life lessons much longer. He’s probably outlived half the people at the workshop.
