HAGEN CAMPAIGN RECEPTION DURING ARTS! ALIVE
District Attorney candidate Paul Hagen invites members of the public to a reception at his campaign headquarters during Saturday’s Arts! Alive. This is an opportunity to meet Paul face to face, ask him questions and get direct answers, discuss with him your concerns about Humboldt County’s future, and learn about his beliefs and values.
The meet and greet reception will feature photos and paintings from several local artists, including Matthew Filar, Rick Greene, Cecelia Ricci, Sara Starr, and Wylie Landry.
The reception will take place on Saturday, June 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Paul Hagen Campaign Headquarters at 416 2nd Street in Old Town Eureka across from the Gazebo. Refreshments will be served.

After reading the NCJ profile I’m wondering whether there’s any word on whether there will be any liquid refreshments at his events other than “pure water?”
Will Hagen give visitors the opportunity to “pollute” their Precious Bodily Fluids with such horrifying substances as tea, coffee, fruit juice or milk?
Or will he insist on everyone maintaining their Purity of Essence at his events, because as he told the NCJ, he “reasons” that because the body is mostly water, therefore drinking anything else would be “polluting” it.
Also, since aside from water the rest of the body is mostly muscle tissue, will meat be the only food allowed, in order to avoid “polluting” the body with other non-animal-tissue foods?

Oh no, the Purity of Essence has been polluted!?
Seriously, I don’t think this is any kind of serious issue in the campaign, but there’s no doubt that the bit about this in the NCJ profile did make him appear to be a bit of a kook.
It may have solidified some of his core supporters who may share those beliefs, but to the average voter I think it probably just added to the impression (accurate or not) that he may be just a bit too far out on the fringe.
Basically I just can’t resist poking fun at him for this…it really does echo the nutty general in Dr. Strangelove.
But if by chance it ends up coming down to Hagen vs. Jackson, he’ll still get my vote. As Jackson demonstrated so clearly in her extremely misleading ad about the Schooling case, she is only too willing to lie and deceive the public in her quest for power and revenge. There’s no way that vituperative bitch should be anywhere NEAR the DA’s office.

This comment just got censored from the North Coast Journal blog where they attack other local media for allowing the same “F-bomb” to be uttered that Hank Sims belts out with sickening regularity:

For better or worse, unless there’s some serious misunderstanding or unless the absentees already cast push him over 50 percent on Tuesday, Sundberg’s campaign is probably toast.

What? No story on reggae rising and the problems tom dimmick seems to be having? Why aren’t the Vote of No Confidence Gang doing the same thing to him they did to the MCC? He can’t have a safe event if long term coordinators are leaving/ have left. He can’t have a safe event with all sorts of new people who don’t the area, the roads,…..what were all his reasons that on cb could do the show? The MCC is doing a helluva job. td should hire them.
