I was just on the street where someone informed me that I should listen to KMUD tonight for big news. I don’t want to repeat rumors here, because I have no way of separating them from the truth from what I’ve heard. Just suggesting you tune it at 6:00 p.m.

well well, for the past couple of years, many people have been wondering how Daryl cherny will finally succeed in destroying our community health care district.
Cherny stated that he had to come out and be a “whistleblower”. But what he can’t see or is incapable of seeing is that what he really is ,is nothing but an old earth firster whose motto is still “NO COMPROMISE” and vows to “play by no mans rules but my own”. This is NOT the kind of person who should be on any Board of Directors and has been a shrill egoist ever since getting on that Board.
When you are on any Board, there are rules of behavior and ethics to uphold especially Confidentiality concerning personnel issues.
There is WAY more to this story than can be told openly and to the public because it’s a personnel issue.
cherny should resign and go learn some skills on how to become a productive
member of …..anything really.

Eric,
I put Darryl’s letter up on my blog for those who missed it. I missed the Mud’s story–tuned in too late apparently.

Dave Kirby
From his first day on the health district board Mr. Cherney has not had a clue as to the duties and limitations of being a board member. From the outset he has meddled in staff issues that frankly are not the responsibility of a board member. If he had any real history with the healthcare district he would know that Dr. Phelp’s issues with administration policy go back at least 15 years with a number of different administrators. These issues are complex, dealing with contracts etc. They do not lend themselves to the kind of simplistic media events that Daryl seems to relish. Daryl has stated that he will not be running for re election. I would point out that he was not elected in the first place. He was the only applicant for the position he holds. His time on the board has shown how a board by default is not healthy. As a 2 term elected member of that board I would suggest that if there be any resignations they should start with Mr. Cherney. Go away quietly Daryl and stop throwing bombs on your way out the door.

SOMETHIN'S UP WITH KMUD 2
check out kmuds archives and listen to cherny’s “interview” I’m embarrassed for him.
Speaking of kmud……Something is definitely up with them, they came up $30,000 short of their fundraising goal. that’s historical. I heard BIG changes are going to be announced there soon as well.

David Kirby-I do not think it’s appropriate for you to use a bomb reference when talking about Mr Cherney, considering he was a bomb victim, as proven by a court of law.. but I do think that personnel matters at an institution like a hospital should not be discussed as openly as Mr. Cherney does. There are many details that only the parties concerned are aware of, and so much complexity and detail that it cannot be summed up in a sound bite.

I think the bomb throwing reference was very appropriate as it was a term long before Daryl nearly got himself blown up.

the reasonable anonymous
“nearly got himself blown up.”
As if it was his doing. Sorry, but it’s already been well-proven that he and Judi Bari were innocent victims of the bombing, and then on top of that, they were the victims of a cruel and transparent attempt to frame them for their own bombing.
He didn’t “get himself blown up,” some sick motherfucker tried to blow him up. By the way, that sick fucker is still out there somewhere, perhaps casing another victim. Funny how when they couldn’t pin the blame on Judi and Darryl, the authorities pretty much dropped the investigation altogether. Maybe they were afraid the trail might lead right back to their own offices? Or maybe they already KNEW that’s where the trail would lead?

Dave Kirby does have a point in that a board by default is not healthy. We need a choice of people to vote for! Please ask your friends and neighbors to stand up for the hospital and put their name on the ballot. They have until July to fill out the papers. We need some smart people that can stand up for themselves and the employees. Do you know anyone who would be a great board member?
