Last time Gallegos was south of the Eureka KMart was a visit to Garberville to feebly try to explain away his authorizing the Code Enforcement goon squad. Hopefully Bonnie and the CLEMP crew will be around tomorrow to ask him some questions.

The Code Enforcement fiasco was truly a tangled mess, and Gallegos deserves his share of the blame for allowing them to carry guns under his authority, but without any meaningful oversight.
However, it should be noted that after that meeting at the Garberville Vets Hall where he was called to task on the issue, Gallegos immediately withdrew his deputization for the code enforcement officers, and as a result they were disarmed. So, better late than never, better responsive than non-responsive.
I think we all know that Terry Farmer (the former DA) or Worth Dikeman (who lost the last election to Gallegos) would have reacted with unquestioning loyalty toward the code cops, and they’d still have their guns and likely still be running roughshod over our property rights even today. Allison Jackson, probably the same.

Did you hear Gallegos on KMUD a few weeks ago talking about the code enforcement issue with Bonnie? You should check it out in the archives at kmud.org it was on the March 24.
Bonnie was the interviewer that night and she thanked him for coming down after that mess happened, for taking his share of the responsibility and for immediately taking their guns away, so it wouldn’t happen again.
Hopefully, Bonnie will be there tomorrow to ask him in person so everyone can hear it.

Wow – I heard the interview and thought he must have been smoking too much of Garberville’s best product before the interview. Or, is he always that “vague” in interviews?
Catch the NJ guy with the softball question? Relative or friend from back home?
Bonnie, and a couple others, had to not only toss him softball questions, but also help guide him to the answers. Pathetic!
We deserve better!!

I will listen just to see how many fingers I will have to use to count questions that don’t
1) involve dope
2) involve code enforcement (see above)
3) involve Farmer (see above)
4) invoke Dikeman (see above)
I am pretty sure I won’t need any fingers to count questions about how many deputies he has lost compared to, say, anyone else;what happened to CAST and where are his CAST stats; and why Wes Keat has to do all the heavy lifting in the office.
