For whatever it’s worth, the differences are 6 to 11 points between liberals and conservatives.
Curiously, while monogamous men are smarter than philandering men, women who sleep around tend to be just as intelligent as monogamous women.
This article looks at some of the issues a little more closely.

These same tests also show white people as smarter than black. Of course, the tests are designed by white people……. same as WHO study that shows circumcised men in Africa have lower AIDS infection. Study of circumcised women would probably show same thing because the women are brought up in cultures with strict rules against unmarried sex and monogamous relationships.

You say FWIW, Eric. Offhand, I’d say it’s worth zero.
Does it really shock you that those who give science priority over religion would do slightly better on a test that is aimed at testing the very small subset of intelligence that correlates with analytic thinking?
I think you’ve found a study that will be of interest to Mensa and no one else.

There is so much sloppy research being done these days…I’ll bet they didn’t even factor in whether the person is a blogger!

Monogamy is definitely smarter, though I can’t tell if its practitioners are inspired by their higher IQs, or are simply lucky to avoid temptation.

Does the data show that people who impute bias to a study on the basis of its results rather than its method are more intelligent than those who do not?

Well, I’ve been told that, other than being financially conservative, I’m really quite liberal in my philosophy.
I’m not really an atheist, I have every intention of believing in God as soon as he becomes tangible enough to hit with a hammer.
And I have always been 100% monogamous to all my girl friends and wives.
I noticed that there was no score for a sense of humor.
Could I just be a little tiny bit smart? Stupid is so boring……….

Can I finally claim to be smart because I’ve been married 35 years? Or, just lucky?
I’m not saddled with a political position – democrap or repug – and I’m not an atheist. If not for monogamy, I’d have to admit being stupid!

Who would that be? Ed?

Unk John
I’ve been married to the same woman for 45 years, most people consider me a liberal, and I used to say I’m agnostic but now I’m not so sure. I think I’m an atheist, but unlike Ernie I’m not waiting with a hammer – I’m more inclined to stick voltmeter probes in his/her ears to see if there’s a charge. If there are no ears, I’ll come up with something.
I guess I meet almost all the criteria, and I know I have an I.Q. of at least 20.

Using the internet makes me stupider. I dunno about sex or sacrificing barn animals.

What is it that IQ tests measure, again? I’ve forgotten. Something about a willingness to bomb villages, isn’t it?

They very accurately measure one’s ability to take IQ tests.

Reading the topic heading and given Eric’s audience, I was expecting to jump into a circle jerk of self congratulation with maybe a howl of protest from Rose and Fred. But no, UNANONYMOUS and MITCH neatly eviscerate the findings in the first two posts. Why can’t we godless liberals have any fun.

I’m surprised the margin isn’t larger.
