You headline caught me off guard – I thought we’d left it out of the Journal calendar, but the show is not in fact this week, it’s next week.

About the upcoming elections of Mateel Board of Directors. There are 4 candidates for the board positions. Of those 4, there are 3 who would be excellent board members, Joe Hiney, Agnes Patak and Rainbow Mountain Walker. Hiney, Walker, and Patak are the 3 candidates who’ve had the great benefit of having been on the Mateel board before, at crucial times in the Mateel’s history. They know how important it is to be able to listen and work with other board members and staff and not be so rigidly attached to their own agenda, that other areas of need get left undone. Talk is cheap. They don’t just talk. All three of them can be seen, if not daily (in Joe’s case), at least weekly, volunteering in the hall and at Mateel events. They get along with everyone on the hard-working staff. Vote for Hiney, Walker and Patak.
