One of the more amusing moments of the hearings, not including Sen. Sessions’ neanderthal rants.
I wanted to hear Hatch tell us that they would have to pry his nunchuks out of his cold dead hands.
It should be pointed out that the Semarai might have supported nunchuck control regulations at some point. Were the ninjas Japan’s minutemen?

Not for what they do; but for what they teach. the rice-flail was a weapon of the peasantry. The Nobel born had swords and bows.

Ninjas were hired assassins more like Lord Cheney’s secret Delta Force than common citizen Minute Men. But, like torture, Lord Cheney’s DF program kept us safe from another Al quaeda attack, so it’s all good. Instead of investigating him there should be a new medal created just for him. Something large, shiny and bullet proof.
I gather the discussion of Shurikens , or throwing stars, will be summarily taken up by another numbnut Republican tomorrow?

Wikipedia doesn’t have any definitive information. Eric’s reference is based on the legend of the ninja as peasant rebel waging guerrilla war against the Samurai.
“In Japanese history, a ninja (忍者, ninja?) was a warrior specially trained in a variety of unorthodox arts of war. These include assassination, illusion, and espionage.[citation needed]
The exact origin of the ninja is a matter of debate. It is known that ninja appeared in 14th century Japan and remained active from the Kamakura to the Edo period.[citation needed] The role of the ninja may have included sabotage, espionage, and scouting.[citation needed] Such actions may have taken place at the service of a feudal lord (daimyo, shogun), or other entity waging guerilla warfare.”
This site says there was a Samurai campaign to eradicate the ninja in the 1600s. But it suggests like Wikipedia that they were feudal agents not peasant rebels.

Okay, I think I sent this discussion down a random road.

I wasn’t associating “knunchucka” with Ninja’s. Back when I was a Bruce Lee Devotee’, I heard that the rice flail came from china, and the overthrow or the Mandrians, was when they were first used in a big way. If you look at the whole array of wooden weapons, they are nothing more than a few farm implements cut up.
The Ninja’s were a guild of assassins. Many were disgraced Samurai.

I fail to see why the video of the hearing is amusing.
