Bonnie Neely is now a Democrat, according to Rob Arkley before the Republican women, courtesy of Old Glory Radio. Seems like it’s overdue. With Virginia Bass planning to run against her from the Republican side, the timing is probably appropriate.
Rob Arkley says some colorful things in the video. Cheney is “awesome.” Enjoy.
Thanks to Heraldo for posting the video.
Addendum: In listening again I noticed he’s bragging about residing in Louisiana so he can avoid taxes here. I guess he’s been taking some lessons from Leona Helmsley. Either he didn’t check with his publicist, or he needs a new one.

I must have missed the part where he said Cheney was awesome.

At about 7:35 in the video a question is asked and he responds, “Cheney has really boxed him (presumably Obama) into a corner. It is awesome what is happening.”

Is that saying Cheney was awesome?

Well, I would say so. I mean, I guess if you want to parse it it’s limited to saying that what Cheney’s doing is awesome. I’d say the difference is pretty much semantic. Wouldn’t you?

“…It’s awesome what is happening.” Yes, semantics. I guess with the words you used I was expecting more.

No, no more. Just. Awesome.

I wonder if that might have been a strategic mistake on Bonnie’s part? She switched, I assume, out of political expedience- figuring it would give her an edge in the election. I’ve lost at least some respect for her for switching just for political expedience.
If she switched to Decline To State, the fastest growing voter group, she would of looked a bit less pandering to political expedience and I might not be bothered as much by her move.

Are you saying that her beliefs are inconsistent with the Democratic Party? How so? She should have switched years ago.

Did she actually “switch” and will run as a Democrat or was he just commenting re her being a Democrat. She has been a RINO for years.

After watching the video, that’s what I’m wondering. I haven’t heard that from anyone but Rob Arkley. Where did he hear it from?

So who are you going to vote for Fred? One of the two recently converted Dems or the only long time Dem-Jeff Leonard who cannot win? I have changed parties at least 4 times that I can remember and still refuse to be pidgeon holed. Party affiliation on a local level is an irrevelant label and marketing tool that we would all best ignore. Locally it comes down to the person and their beliefs or lack of them.

It’s all over town. It’s Eureka’s worst kept secret.

I’m still under off-the-record prohibitions from about 12 different sources, but I suppose I can confirm that it is indeed a poorly kept secret.

What’s the point of doing it if it’s a secret?

“So who are you going to vote for Fred?.
At this point, I’m “standing aside (as the Greens put it), believe it or not. That certainly may change as issues develop in the race. As far as the two Eureka city council folks running, some bad things have happened in Eureka over the last few years and both of them supported at least two them: Smoking bans and mandatory garbage service.
Now, I can’t say Virginia Bass supported the smoking bans. She was in the lucky position of Mayor so she didn’t have to vote on them, but I got the impression she was very supportive of mandatory garbage service, even mentioning once that it wouldn’t really work well to help diversion rates until the whole county had mandatory garbage service. That doesn’t sound good.
I’ll be listening to see how things develop.
“Party affiliation on a local level is an irrevelant label and marketing tool that we would all best ignore.“.
Agreed, and annoying to hear about in local races to the extent we hear it- especially from those on the Left- on the blogs. That’s one reason I think it would be nice to have more candidates switch to Decline To State and it would of been nice to see Neely be one of the first.

I meant to say it would have been nice to see Neely have been one of the first. But, no, she felt she might actually do better doing the party switch. Kind of plays against what some of us would like to see in local races.
Then again, maybe she actually just wanted to switch parties. I guess there’d be nothing wrong with that, if you could believe it.

10 Million Dollar Man
Bonnie has acted like a Democrat for years. Though, being a bureaucrat, it took 10 years to complete the update of her voter registration paperwork.
She must have put Kirk Girard in charge.

So let me get this straight: First Arkley complains about California being broke, then announces that he’s going to dodge paying his taxes in California. It hasn’t occured to him that tax-dodgers like himself are part of the problem?
Apparently the Arkleys want to make money in California, but don’t want to pay their fair share to support the infrastructure that allows them to make a profit in the first place. Sure, he gives to non-profits and that’s great, but it’s no substitute for paying for the basics.

Nope. I suspect he knows he’s throwing his tax money into another bottomless hole. Time to move elsewhere.

Its a good thing Arkly gives his blessing to both CA and LA. A multi-blessing can exponentially raise the vibrations for both areas. And believe you me they need it LOL! Cuz the vibrations are even lower in LA than CA specially after they went down in the flood although it seems to me that that must be harder for some to grasp than a slime covered rope thrown to a drowning peep… We live in bubble here in humbodlt. If the bubble were to pop tomorrow things would look quite differently… LA is the birthplace of jazz –duh!! A lot of provincial opinions get formed in a bubble and it seems that due to this there are many yokal’s who have a moral/ethical problem with Arkley that is so out of tune with reality that they foul the air with bad sounds –which is just plain ignorant becuz it ties up the natural flow. Judged be not. Flow downstream. And pray that so be it that one not judged’s knot be untied.
