She’s in trouble for this one. She’s doing, or was doing, a stand-up comedy tour sponsored by her employer, Air America. She was in San Francisco when she made some remarks in appropriate for national politics, but as far as I’ve seen over the years on par for non-televised stand-up. For me the biggest crime is that it wouldn’t be anywhere near as funny without the vulgarity, but then that’s also par for the stand-up course. The patrons are drunk and you throw in some Anglo-Saxon biological terms and you get laughs. The part about Spitzer and Angelina Jolie is “mildly amusing.” Calling Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton “whores” was not only over-the-top, but kind of disjointed from the points I thought she was trying to make. I think “bitch,” while equally as objectionable, was more appropriate to the points. “Whore” contains a much different connotation.

Air America has suspended her tour indefinitely, and she was not on her radio show today. Sam Seder sat in and tried to rally the listeners to her defense.

I hope they don’t “suspend” her show. It’s a fun listen (I wish KGOE would dump Dr. Laura and put her on – it’s not like the two right wing talk stations up there feel like they need a token liberal), and unpredictable. She’s being called “the left’s Michael Savage.” I think that’s unfair. I’d say more along the lines of the left’s Bill O’Reilly.
