I appreciate the tone which avoids scapegoating the homeless. I see the photos as evidence that we are failing them as well.

They also reference “uncaring citizens” who dump their appliances and other garbage, though I would also put this in the lap of government agencies which mandate recycling and refuse to accept certain items in their trash pick-up, and force people to pay for the disposal of electronic appliances and other trash. Quite frankly, disposal of all items, including vehicles, should be free. You ask, “who pays for it but the taxpayer?” Well, who pays for it when it’s dumped into a ravine to poison water supplies?

This video is also from the site. Not sure what I think of the version of California Dreamin, but it’s a powerful video which ought to wake some of us up. And maybe a few state and local agencies as well, particularly those currently obsessing over closed system composting toilets.
