Shut up and Sing. Highly recommended. Not sure I’d give the documentarians any brilliancy points, and I’ll explain why maybe later tonight. But given the shear force of the personality of Natalie Maines, this film is a great watch.
My favorite part is the scene where the publicist is screaming at the agent during the nude/writing-on-skin shoot to the effect that the American people are too stupid to get the point they were trying to make.
The documentary is ostensibly about the band and an incident, but what it really reveals is the depth of viciousness people can reach in response to the expression of a sincere thought. But we know all about that around here, don’t we?
More later.
Sad. Nothing else to say.
Boy. I’m not comfortable with it. I’m confused as to when the guns can be used, and under what jurisdiction the D.A. agents would operate. Are they to be deputized by law enforcement agencies? Do they need to be?
