Somebody brought this comment to my attention. It’s posted over on Fred’s blog.
Eric Kirk is a conservative. Eric Kirk is no Democrat. Eric Kirk gave himself away on his own blog when he tried to say that Mike Thompson is a member of the Progessive Caucus. No legitimate Democrat could possibly be that clueless. Come out of the closet Eric Kirk. You are a Republican!
It’s a keeper. Even better than a comment I got a few months ago.
Eric Kirk is just another pot smoking Gallegos clone
How many pot smoking Gallegos clones are there?
I think I’m going to put together a collection – sort of a best hits. They date back to my very second blog post, again over at Fred’s, back in May. Two posts, and somebody says:
You’re losing your credibility with every post Eric.
What can I say? I work fast.

And you supported Measure T, too.

Well, I opposed Measure T. I support water fluoridation. I believe Israel has the right to exist. And I don’t believe that the CIA blew up the WTC with demolition bombs.
Hey, someone once called me a “closet Davis supporter” because I criticized something Camejo had said during the election campaign. He believe that my public endorsement of Camejo was a ruse.
Maybe it was. Heh heh.

Another appropriate label would be
“most clueless Democrat in Humboldt County” if you actually thought Mike Thompson was a progressive! Thompson is as close as you can get to being a Republican without actually changing your party registration. Come on, Eric. You didn’t actually post on your blog that Mike Thompson is a member of the progressive wing of the party, did you? That would be just plain dumb.

I was joking about the Measure T thing.
At least you’ve never been accused of having man boobs.

I know. And my wife removed the mirror from our hallway!

I’m guilty, and dumb I guess. I’d read an article about the Bay Area contingent and the progressive caucus – too quickly I guess – and missed the “not” in a sentence about the Democrat representatives who are not in the PC.
So I guess I’m going to have to perform some sort of Buddhist redemption ritual – you know the one with the drum and the candles?
Heraldo – Um. What other kind would I have?

Eric is definitely left-leaning, but he is intellectually honest enough to try to objectively evalute every issue instead of automatically towing the party line. Consequently, every once in awhile he breaks ranks with the militant leftists for which they unfairly attack him. The modern left is downright scary in a Stalinesque kind of way. Eric, keep up the good work. I don’t think you are a narcissist.

“The modern left is downright scary in a Stalinesque kind of way.” What kind of idiot posted that crap? The only group of politicians in this country that could be labeled as “Stalinist” would be the discredited, criminal neo-cons. Ever hear of Alberto “The Torture Czar” Gonzales before? How about John “Mr. Death Squad” Negroponte? Or better yet, Dick “I voted to let Nelson Mandela rot in prison” Cheney. There’s your “Stalinists.”

Then of course there’s Hillary Clinton who had peace protestors arrested THIS morning outside her DC office.

So Hillary is now in charge of the police and tells them who to arrest? Did you read the story? The arrest only happened after a “demonstrator” kicked a blind woman who was trying to navigate through the area.

The most left leaning liberal progressive democrat bogger in Sohum is pegged anonymously as a conservative! Eric! Which people that know you have posted without being hidden by a cloak of their opinion? I will now publically announce to all posters that you are a progressive liberal!

Eric you do seem to be a progressive liberal but one that thinks for himself. This seems to make some people nervous who insist on being idological as opposed to thoughtful.

Hey Eric, just consider these posts as a free psychiatric evaluation by people who have mostly never met you.

Eric, if you agree with someone 99% of the time, then they will remember you for that 1% where your beliefs diverge. In a crowd of homogenous thought, a single point of disagreement becomes conspicuous.
To truly consider an opposing viewpoint, one must first allow that their own opinion may be wrong. This requires an intellectual honesty that some people are simply incapable of. It is so much easier and more convenient to simply label you so that they can dismiss your opinion outright.
Oh and, Mresquan, I have met Eric, so my psychiatric evaluation of him will not be free. He will be receiving my bill.

You seem like a pretty right on person to me no matter how many joints you smoke with Gallegos while reviewing the radical left. YOu probably think that Faux News is fair and balanced as well.

Eric is out to lunch on 9/11, however. Can you say -
INSIDE JOB?
George W. Bush & Dick Cheney can.

Eric, “the rest of the world just isn’t that stupid.” I agree.
Have you had any discussions with non-Americans about 9/11?
They don’t believe the official
big lie either. And over 1/3 of Americans (according to Scripps-Howard polling)now know it was an inside job. What’s taking you so long to get a clue about 9/11?

A lot of people are so far in denial about the Bush Administration, they may never get out of it. 9/11 is something a lot of people can’t handle discussing. A lot of people know they were lied to, but they don’t want to admit it to themselves or anyone else. People want to trust their government. And they will go to great lengths to ignore the obvious.

So, how many 911 conspiracy buffs have actually picked up the Popular Mechanics book? Yeah, yeah, I know. The guy’s second cousin’s wife is in the CIA or whatever. Now, have you actually read it? And please don’t link to a pro-conspiracy theory review. Tell me if you’ve read it yourself. In all the volumes of material you’ve no doubt poured through, have you read the one book that takes another view?
